Back to School Roundup, Covid Style!
Our back to
school shopping is going to be a little different this year. Wah, wah.
Here’s a round up of some of this year’s must haves for students. Click to shop!
Masks
I am loving the school pack from Crayola. They come in a
pack of five, so you’ve got one for each school day. I love that they come with
a mesh carrying bag, too.
You can get masks anywhere these days! Make sure you are finding ones with the wire nose piece and adjustable straps for your kids. If you have a mask you love that doesn't have adjustable ear bands, just stick a pony bead on there!
My son gets overheated very easily, so for him I’m leaning
toward the disposable masks. I just found some on Amazon that are kid sized and
printed. He'll be after the camo pack for sure. Plus, they have the nose wire, which really matters. We will
be trying these!
Goggles
Don’t forget they eyes! They soak up everything! These goggles
are actually made for Nerf wars, but they’re kid sized and comfy so I think
they’ll do the trick. With enough in the package, you can have a fresh pair every day. Then just toss in the dishwasher top rack to sanitize, or wipe down with Clorox Wipes.
If you have a fashion forward child, like my daughter, why not just grab some cute blue light filtering glasses? You know the kids are going to be on their devices A LOT, so it can’t hurt to filter some of that harmful blue light. Plus, these just look like cute novelty glasses, which she wears all the time anyway!
Lanyards
Look for a way to avoid your child dropping their mask in
the bathroom, on the playground, on the cafeteria floor, etc! Check out these
lanyards with breakaway neck for safety!
Another option would be glasses chains, but this would require a little work to get them tied to the mask at the beginning of the day.
Shields
If you have a little who is NOT digging the mask, maybe a
shield would work better. These are cute!
Cases
There will be times during the school day they take their
mask off. I’m terrified my son is going to wad his up and shove it in his
pocket with some dirty change and candy wrappers and who knows what else. Or my
daughter will drop hers into her backpack where it will get smooshed up with
all the crayon bits and notebooks and snacks. Am I the only one?
My current plan is to have each kid decorate a hard plastic case with
their favorite stickers and decals. Then it will live in the front small pocket
of their backpacks, with NOTHING ELSE. It can be easily wiped down at the end of the day with a Clorox Wipe. Since this package comes with six in a set, you could just pack them all with fresh masks on Sunday night and avoid a daily morning scramble for the week.
Here are some of the decals my kids are loving:
Don't Wait!
Shipping is crazy these days. Is anyone in the same boat as me? Sometimes I order something and it arrives THE NEXT DAY, while another item won't show up for weeks. Calm your anxiety and shop early.Happy retail therapy!
Great ideas!
